- Si pronunciano /sk/ (come nella parola inglese “ski”) quando sono seguite da “a”, “o”, “u”, “hi”, “he” (es. pesca, scomodo, discutere, maschile, bruschetta).
- Si pronunciano /ʃ/ (come nella parola inglese “show”) quando sono seguite da “i”, “e” (es. scimmia, pesce, sciarpa, sciopero, prosciutto).
