After the success of its critically acclaimed international hit The Nature of Forgetting, Theatre Re returns with 'a rich tapestry of ongoing humanity' (The Scotsman) about the evolution of family and life.

BIRTH depicts the interconnected narratives of three generations of women within a single family, as they go through pregnancy, motherhood, marriage, and loss. Emily, eight months pregnant, immerses herself in her grandmother's journal, uncovering a legacy of courage and unconditional love, and confronting the unspoken sorrows that have shaped their lives. Through a blend of visual theatre and live music, BIRTH takes the audience on a poignant journey where stories of family bonds, shared experiences, memories and secrets are told with grace and sensitivity.
