This patient had severe acne
This patient had severe acne scars around his temple and cheeks. He felt self-conscious about dealing with acne as an adult, so he came to me for a customized combination approach that targets is textural issues. We pre-treated the patient with a peel to lighten and exfoliate the skin. This allows us to go deeper with the laser and obtain optimal results. I then performed punch excision, a minimally invasive acne scar removal technique. For optimal results this procedure is paired with a laser resurfacing treatment such as #CO2.
"We used the CO2 laser for skin resurfacing, this laser is 80% fractional which means that it is almost an ablative type of laser. We also used the Computer Program Generator hand piece, or CPG, which allows the energy to be delivered homogeneously in addition to being more tolerable for the patient. The hand piece is perfect for this type of treatments as it reads the distance between the skin and distributes the energy evenly." - Dr. Jason Emer
