『日本国語大辞典 第三版』改訂をスタートします

初版刊行から約半世紀。 第二版から24年。 ここより、日本最大の国語辞典が生まれ変わります。 長きにわたって文化は言葉で記され、国語辞典はそれを読み解く鍵でした。 明治・大正時代、松井簡治は日本文化の蓄積たる古典世界を見通すため、堅牢で信頼できる鍵を求めて日本初の大型国語辞典『大日本国語辞典』を編纂。 そして戦後にいたり、新しい日本語を考えるよすがとして、小学館はその孫にあたる松井栄一とともに『日本国語大辞典』『同 第二版』を作り上げました。 それから二十余年。 情報技術と通信手段の高度化は、未曾有のテキストコミュニケーション時代をもたらしつつあります。 そうした言語使用の変化や、研究の進展に合わせて、国語辞典も進化しつづけなければなりません。 私たちは、この時代にふさわしい辞書作りを目指します。 どうか“日国”の二度目の新生を、見守ってください。 小学館 辞書編集室 Nearly half a century since the publication of the first edition. Twenty-four years since the second edition. Now, the largest Japanese language dictionary is set to be reborn. For a long time, culture has been recorded through language, and dictionaries have served as the key to understanding it. In the Meiji and Taisho eras, MATSUI Kanji, in search of a secret key to unlock the world of Japanese classics that represent the accumulation of Japanese culture, compiled the first unabridged Japanese dictionary, the "Dai-Nihon Kokugo Jiten." Then, after the war, Shogakukan, together with MATSUI Shigekazu, his grandson, compiled the "Nihon Kokugo Daijiten" (Shogakukan Unabridged Dictionary of the Japanese Language) and its second edition as a guide to understanding the new Japanese language in the modern era. More than twenty years have passed since then. The advancement of communications and information technology has brought about an unprecedented era of text-based communication. To keep up with such changes in language usage and the progress of research in modern times, Japanese language dictionaries must continue to evolve.
