Pope Francis prayed a special prayer as he closed the Holy Door in St. Peter’s Basilica, ending the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy. He prayed, “O Holy Father, Omnipotent in love, who in your son Jesus born of the Virgin Mary has manifested the face of your infinite mercy, look with goodness upon the Church gathered in prayer, at the conclusion of the Jubilee Year. Aware of the gifts of grace received and encouraged to testify with words and works the tenderness of Your merciful love, we close the Holy Door.
