GUIDE has been used majorly before App Designer was launched in MATLAB R2016a. The GUIDE environment will be removed in a future release. After GUIDE is removed, existing GUIDE apps will continue to run in MATLAB, but they will not be editable in GUIDE. For added control over design and development, you can use MATLAB functions to define the layout and behavior of your app. In this approach, you use GUIDE and create a figure to serve as the container for your user interface and add components to it programmatically.
