This is the original burial place of notorious sex offender and paedophile Jimmy Savile at the Woodlands Cemetery in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. Savile was buried here in November 2011 amidst a wave of public emotion, befitting his then status as a beloved national treasure. However, within weeks, news slowly began to emerge of Savile's horrifying double life as one of Britain's most prolific paedophiles and sex offenders. As a result, Savile's headstone bearing the terrifying message 'It was good while it lasted' was hastily removed . It has never been publicly revealed whether Savile's remains were exhumed. Although one assumes they have. If not, then it is at this spot - ironically an idyllic and peaceful location on the outskirts of picturesque Yorkshire seaside Scarborough, a town where Savile kept a home for many years, where one of Britain's most sickening individuals rests.
