Welcome, Interwebs! We are so incredibly pleased to bring you a bonus movie reaction video for one of our most personally beloved horror films: Ari Aster's visual and emotional stunner, Midsommar! We thought we would treat ourselves and all of you with a viewing of the director's cut, as that's the closest we can come to a first time watch on this. Bring your heart with you as we venture into this surreal journey of tragic loss, grieving, and the bizarre ways we often find ourselves suddenly in the midst of chosen family (although, an interesting counter critique that I have read is that the community functions more like a toxic cult). Deep breaths, my darlings!

Interesting fact! This film is packed with potent visual imagery, including the painting that foreshadows Dani's becoming queen hanging in her apartment in the beginning of the film. The painting depicts a bear and a young girl wearing a crown, and is rendered by a Swedish painter, John Bauer, who focused his creative works on both Swedish folklore and mythology.
