This piece was performed as part of a concert hosted by Shri Manoj Tamhankar in memory of his father. The program was organized on the weekend of Diwali of 2011 - hence the decoration with lights in the background.
Hansdhwani is a south Indian raga but is very popularly performed in north Indian tradition these days. The first of the three compositions is based on a Meerabai Bhajan set to tune by Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar while the second composition is based on traditional south Indian kriti "Vaatapi Ganapatim Bhajeyam" (or I prey to Lord Ganapati from Vaatapi)
Prasad Bhandarkar (Bansuri)
Satish Tare (Tabla)
Abhijit Jere (Manjira)
