The Blue Spring Putaruru, located in the Waikato region of New Zealand, is famous for its crystal clear water. In addition to this, the gentle swaying of the river weed at the bottom of the lake, the sound of footsteps on the gravel path of the walkway, and the chirping of birds in the woods all come together to create an incredibly relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.
The water feeding the Blue Spring comes from the Mamaku Plateau, which is a short 13km stroll away. However, it takes the water between 50 to 100 years to reach the spring. It flows at a rate of 9,240 gallons per minute at a constant 11 degrees Celsius. The Blue Spring supplies around 60% to 70% of New Zealand's bottled water, making it a significant natural resource.
The spring can be accessed via the Te Waihou Walkway, a 4.7km one-way trail that offers an easy journey through wetlands, rolling pastoral land, and native bush. Along the way, you'll see small waterfalls, trout swimming in the river, and, of course, the Blue Spring itself. The walkway can be accessed from two car parks: Te Waihou (Leslie Road) Car Park and Te Waihou (Whites Road) Car Park. I personally prefer the Leslie Road entrance for its better views.

02:41 - Viewing platform. Across from the spring, there is a small pool between the silver fern tree and river weed, where the water is the bluest. This place used to be the most popular spot to play in the water, but swimming is now prohibited throughout the entire Blue Spring.

06:04 - Fallen tree. In the middle of the spring, there is a fallen tree that has become a permanent spot for ducks and cormorants to catch fish. It has been there for many years.

08:04 - One of the best photo spots. The spring water here is deep and has a gentle flow, making the color even bluer and allowing for a clear view of the bottom. Paired with the green grassland and gray-white rocks on the opposite bank, it creates a stunning scene.

09:19 - Turning point. The walkway is 4.7 kilometers long, but this video only covers a small portion, turning back from this point.

13:11 - Mid-hill viewing platform. Just a few dozen steps up, it is easily accessible.
