Blue Plaque unveiled in honour of Bert, Carless , Birmingham‘s first Black elected Councillor

On Friday, 15 December 2023, a blue plaque was unveiled at South City College Handsworth, in honour of Birmingham‘s first Black , elected Councillor Alderman Egbert Sylvester Carless OBE, who was also the chair of governors at the college,
between 1985 & 2002.
