Ed Lacy is a character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. First appearing in Superman Family Vol 1 #185 ( October, 1977). He was created by Juan Ortiz, Steve Mitchell and Bob Toomey.
Krypto first appeared in Pre-Crisis Earth-One continuity in Adventure Comics #210 by Otto Binder and Curt Swan. He was introduced in Post-Crisis New Earth continuity in Starman (Volume 2) #64 by James Robinson and Peter Snejbjerg.
Krypto's senses are even greater than an empowered Kryptonian as a canine's natural senses are greater than a human being's. Since Superman is essentially human when not empowered by solar rays and Krypto is essentially a dog when not empowered by solar rays, this makes sense. On more than one occasion others, including Superman, have remarked that Krypto's sense are the greatest on earth.
