Epicycloid is a plane curve
Epicycloid is a plane curve produced by tracing the path of a chosen point on the circumference of a circle that rolls without slipping around a fixed circle.
Epicycloid with a single cusp is also called Cardioid.
Epicycloid / Cardioid can be formed by connecting point in the circumstance of circle by using a certain function.
In this video, the point is connected using M mod N function.
