_______________ Reggae Rudimental Ritual | How To Practice | Stephen Taylor Drum Lesson -- Here's another drum practice session. I'm digging in deep on the roots of reggae drumming. So I'm taking things that I know well and "Reggae-tizing" them. Alan Dawson's rudimental ritual is one of those. I love putting different foot patterns underneath it. So here, I'm taking a relatively simple (but tricky) foot pattern...the bass drum on 2 and 4...and working it out. I'll then warm up each day with this to further distance myself from the 1.
Again, this is a practice session of mine. Just press record and do my normal thing. A lot of you have told me that the practice sessions i post are more informative than many of the lessons. So for you, here's me struggling through to add a simple bass drum pattern to a bigger form.
