Mactan Shrine, also known as
Mactan Shrine, also known as Liberty Shrine, is a memorial park on the island of Mactan in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines. It is one of Cebu's tourist attractions that marks some of the most important events in Philippine's history. This place is where the ''Battle of Mactan'' in 1521 between Spanish soldiers led by Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan and a native leader 'Lapu-Lapu' was held. In this Battle, Ferdinand Magellan and many of his soldiers were killed by 'Lapu-Lapu' and his warriors.
Mactan Shrine host two monuments namely the Magellan Monument, which is dedicated to Ferdinand Magellan and the Lapu Lapu Monument, a bronze statue which commemorates Lapu Lapu,
