I upgraded from the Sony A7s2 to the Sony FX3 and discovered that I needed more mounting options and protection for my camera. I needed something that will allow me to have a rig for:
1. Table top
2. Tripod
3. Podcasting
4. Webcam
The SmallRig Full Cage 3277 gives me just that with multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8" screw mounts along with an Arca Swiss plate for a compatible tripod. It also protects around the camera except for the front and back since the cage goes around it.
Using the cage will not allow for the use of the XLR handle that came with the camera. There is no interference with any of the ports, articulating screen, or buttons. This was not a problem for me since I use the camera strictly as a video capture device where audio is recorded separately.
