Moonlight in Vermont is performed as a duet by Frank Sinatra and Linda Ronstadt. The Great American Standard is the unofficial song about the U.S. state of Vermont, written by John Blackburn (lyrics) and Karl Suessdorf (music) in 1944. The song emphasizes the sweeter, softer, and slower side of Linda Ronstadt.

Michele Wojciechowski Nextavenue.org October 2020 interview question: “Regarding the duets that you sang, do you have a favorite?”

Ronstadt: “I did my best signing on a duet with Frank Sinatra, but it was really hard to sing a duet with him. His voice was in sort of rocky shape, but he was still dangerous. I had to figure out a way to slide around him and make it work. I was really pleased with the way it came out.”

Duets is a compilation gathering together duets Linda Ronstadt has sung with a number of artists over the course of her long and varied career. The album was released on April 8, 2014, just two days before she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
“Linda and the Mockingbirds” documentary digital release date is October 20, 2020.
