Porsche 996 911 Carrera dyno IPD Competition Plenum FABspeed X-Pipe

This time on the rollers, dynojey dyno night two M96 3.6

we test the output gain with the 997 Carrera 2 S headers, an the IPD competition plenum with the GT3 throttle body with dissappointing results.

the IPD competition plenum quoted gains are FAR higher than the 6 horsepower we observed, most of which is simply due to the larger throttle body, not the 'pattented split design' of the plenum itself. This mod gets a solid DO NOT BUY from me. stick with the stock plenum and a good intake.

the Fabspeed X pipe though -- this is an impressive piece of hardware. Saves weight out of the back of the car and gained us over 30 horsepower and torque even with a stock untuned ECU.

Did I mention the sound? the x pipe with the Gundos truly sounds amazing.

The car is now up 47hp and something like 40 lb/ft at the wheel over stock.

dyno was done on the same dyno jet, same time of year with the same wheels and tires on the same BP 93 octane pump gas.

stock M96 3.6.

-K&N intake (decent power gain, great sound improvement)
-IPD competition plenum with GT3 THB (worthless)
-Gundo hack mufflers with fabspeed tips (no real power gain, but sound is A+)
-Fabspeed x pipe. huge performance gain, ear splitting sound.
-997 Carrera 2S headers. minimal gain, minimal sound change.
