In Hannam-dong, residential areas formed
In Hannam-dong, residential areas formed near the Samsung Museum of Art Leeum and below Grand Hyatt Seoul are considered the first. Among the four so-called chaebol chairmen, Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Chairman Choi Tae-won reside here. Behind the Hamilton Hotel at Itaewon Station, there is a large mansion village the size of a playground. It was formed on 27 and 55 Itaewon-ro. On this road, the northern part of Hannam-dong and Itaewon 1-dong, north of Itaewon-ro, are virtually a neighborhood as the city area is naturally connected with a hill in between them.
As of the end of August 2016, there were a total of 24 stock rich people with more than KRW 1 trillion in stock assets in Korea, of which 58% or 14 people live in Dongbu Ichon-dong and Hannam-dong. As mentioned above, many ambassadors from each country live here. The reason why the rich village was formed was that the transportation was good, and the embassy and the U.S. Forces Korea were close, so it was easy to encounter the emerging culture and socialize with diplomatic figures.
U.N. Village and Hannam The Hill, just behind the Han River, are two rich villages equivalent to the north of Hannam-dong. It is a typical Baesan forest area with excellent views of the Han River, so luxury villas and some mansions have been formed on a large scale. There is also a significant gap among high-end villas, with relatively cheap lines priced between 1 billion won and 2 billion won, and Royal Line priced between 4 billion won and 7 billion won, and many chaebol owner families who usually prefer detached houses also reside. Chung Mong-koo, honorary chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, and all four children will live together. The owner family of Doosan Group, Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction and Kumho Asiana Group. DB Group Chairman Kim Joon-ki and Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin also own a villa here, many politicians live, and salubs live among them.
