This one-hour video lays out all you'll need to know about aircraft wiring inspection to the EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnect System) Program as described in FAA Advisory Circular 120-94, as well as FAA Advisory Circular 25-27A and other industry standards.

Learn why and how the integrity of wiring impacts flight safety and learn the techniques to perform wiring inspection at all levels of intensity.  Includes quick examination of past significant incidents and accidents attributable to wiring, typical wire system failures, common causes of wire failure and fatigue, and learn about suspect wiring, such as Kapton,  PVC/Nylon, Kynar, Teflon, Poly-X, Stilan, Tefzel and others.

Other topics covered include: aging, stress failure, bending, chafing, whiskering, clamps, ties, lacing, delamination, insulation cracks, splicing, open wire failure, parallel arcing, series arcing, ESD, and other threats.

This video also describes the EWIS program in detail, including tools, advanced tools, calibration, inspection levels, EZAP, best practices, wire types, housekeeping, and recommended forms and other data collection methods.

This on-line course is both educational and entertaining and concludes with a 25-question quiz, and the results are graded and returned via email to whomever the student designates, providing tangible proof that you can print and show to your PMI or other regulatory representatives. The course includes a nine-page student guide in .pdf format (with links to additional information sources, including the referenced documents).
