Nasi Kandar is a iconic food synonymous with Penang Island, Malaysia. It's said that a trip to Penang is not valid until you try the original "Nasi Kandar" dish here.

With a selection of so many different "nasi kandar" throughout the island, it's hard to say which is the best. One thing is for sure that everybody has their own personal favourite, and each "nasi kandar" has it's own unique and special taste!

In this episode we are in Ayer Hitam, Penang island to find a "nasi kandar" that is highly recommended by locals, in fact we found out about this place from a local Penangite themselves! We arrive at "Nasi Kandar Kampung Melayu (A-29, Jalan Kampung Melayu, Kampung Melayu, 11500 Ayer Itam, Pulau Pinang).

As early as 6am, after the morning prayers, there is already a long line of people queuing for their curry and rice for breakfast. And what a heavy breakfast it is!

Based on Rhys' personal taste and experience, it's safe to say that this is one of the tastiest "nasi kandar" in the whole of Penang, if not the whole of Malaysia. Next time you visit Penang Island, we highly recommend you check it out!
