Producing Christmas tree seedlings. Seed to 2 years.

This video is a brief overview of the process of mass producing tree seedlings for Christmas trees and reforestation.   Lewis River reforestation harvests 4.5 million trees a year, on their 52 acre farm.  Stratification of seed is discussed.  Tarp fumigation of the ground to kill all seeds and bacteria is done.   Most trees are planted as seeds in the field the first year then separated and planted farther apart for the second year.   Watering and fertilizer gives them double growth in a year.
Sandy loam soil helps with drainage so they can be pulled sooner but does not hold much nutrient.
