This video presents an in-depth look at the finished scratch built model/production prop.  It is Part Two of How to Build a Sci-Fi Scratchbuilt Model, Time-Lapse.  The discussion ranges from the earliest layout sketches, fabrication of parts and use of model kit parts.  The finished model took seven months to complete.  Also discussed are the choices to make it a wire model as opposed to use of an armature rig. The video includes artwork from the Director’s Guide for this production model that is seen in “Magnesium Bow”.

Included towards the end of the video is a time lapse of setting up a green screen and some behind-the-scenes of how much went into shooting this video.

This 1/350 scale model is fabricated through the processes of scratch building and kitbashing.
The model is primarily made from cardboard and mat board, various model parts and broken down toy parts.

The model / production prop measures 36-1/2” wide, 38-1/2”long and 18” tall.
