In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil narrates the story Jatindra Nath Das, also known as Jatin Das. He was a revolutionary during the Indian Freedom Movement. In1929, he was arrested for revolutionary activities and was imprisoned in Lahore jail along with Bhagat Singh and others. He was the one who manufactured the bomb thrown in Delhi Assembly by Bhagat Singh and Batukehswar Dutt.
He was tried under the supplementary Lahore Conspiracy Case.
Jatin Das started hunger strike in Jail along with other revolutionary fighters. Their Demand was equal treatment as the European Prisoners and to be recognised as political prisoners. After 63 days of fasting, he died in hospital at the tender age of 24 years. Watch complete video to know more.
