YRK returned home and was
YRK returned home and was brooding her chick when the DOC ranger came by to do a weight check on the chick. After he weighs the chick, he puts it back under Mom and she nips at his shirt!! She is protective of her new chick. The ranger leaves and she gets up to give us a little peek of her baby before snuggling back on on it. Thank you for watching!

The albatross pair is OGK (banded Orange, Green, Black) a 21 year old male and YRK (banded Yellow, Red, Black) a 25 year old female. YRK laid the egg on 14 November 2019. Located at Top Flat Rock New Zealand. Chick hatched Jan. 31st, 2020.
