This is a demonstration of how my homemade logging winch works. I built it using an old Holmes 440 wrecker winch. If you don't mind some basic fabrication work, these can be built relatively easily and work very well. I believe it is rated to pull about 8000 lbs. Sometimes I hook up to logs that are a bit heavy and it starts to drag the tractor backwards. Thant's when I know, I need to stop.
