Samara metro 2022
On the way home from a trip to Kazakhstan, I passed through Samara. And at first I was unlucky with the weather. It was cold, it was raining and there was a strong wind.
And I remembered the promise I made to myself as a child to one day travel through all the subways in all the cities where they exist! I was on the subway in St. Petersburg, in Moscow, in Minsk, in Kyiv, in Prague. I haven’t been to the Samara metro yet. Thus, the Samara metro became the sixth metro that I visited!
As a child, I really liked the subway. My grandfather took me as a little boy to various interesting places. And we lived in the suburbs and traveled by train on the railway and then by metro. Perhaps this is where my love for the railway, trains, railway infrastructure, subway and in general everything that travels on rails comes from. Over time, my enthusiasm for the metro faded, but somewhere in the background the metro loomed... All these underground stations, underground tunnels, metro trains... Well, interesting! And since I remembered my childhood desire to visit all the subways in different cities where they exist, then perhaps this first video will develop into a further challenge and quest :-) Why not? Vanlife metro is not a hindrance. Or metro vanlife? In short, long live Vanlife metro! Let metro vanlife live in the centuries! I was carried away somewhere from the metro...
In general, there is a metro in Samara. Samara metro. Municipal enterprise of the Samara urban district "Samara Metro named after A. A. Rosovsky." It has 10 stations, of which 9 are underground and one is above ground. Currently (2022), the metro consists of one line, the operational length of which in double-track terms is 11.6 km. In terms of the length of operated lines, it ranks 168th in the world, 13th among the metropolitan areas of the former USSR (after Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, Tashkent, Kharkov, Minsk, Baku, Tbilisi, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg), seventh in Russia.
There are only 10 stations in the Samara metro. 9 of them are shallow underground, 1 is above ground.
Shallow underground stations:
single-vaulted (2);
columnar (7).

The deepest station is Gagarinskaya (17.5 meters)
The stations located closest to the surface of the earth are “Sportivnaya”, “Sovetskaya”, “Pobeda”, “Bezymyanka” (≈ 8 meters)
The longest stretch is “Kirovskaya” - “Bezymyanka” ≈ 1.62 km
The shortest distance is “Kirovskaya” - “Yungorodok” ≈ 1 km
The station that has served as a terminus for the longest time is “Yungorodok”
Only 4 Samara metro stations are equipped with escalators.
The Samara metro is the only one among the other 12 systems, in some of whose station lobbies you can see a mention of the Ministry of Railways.
Well, how can you ignore the Samara metro after this? In general, I put on my belt and dived headlong into the Samara metro...

As a child, I really liked to sleep in the car rather than in the house. Now it turns out it was car camping! Such a vanlife! I live in my car quite professionally. True, not all the time, but with enviable frequency. In Western countries, a special term was coined during the night in the car and in Vanlife - boondocking. It means sleeping in a car in a random place, not intended for sleeping in a car, with no or minimal infrastructure in this place. For some reason, in our country another definition of vanlife is more common - carcamping, that is, a narrower phenomenon. People on the way somewhere spend the night in a car somewhere in the middle of the forest.
