If you choose to drain your above ground swimming pool after the pool season, you will quickly realized that the drain valve that is attached to the bottom of your pool is about 6 inch higher than the pool floor. This cause the draining to stop with at least a hundred gallon of water left in your pool.
What I suggest is to simply use the siphon method to drain the pool completely. Just make sure that the other end of the hose were the water comes out is lower than the floor of the pool else, the gravity will stop pulling the water out of the pool. If one end of your pool is lower than the other end then you will want to place the hose at the lowest part or you can use a broom brush to push the water towards the hose so that the siphoning action will continue until there is no more water left.
