You’ve probably seen all sorts of humanoid robots and androids in science fiction, but we are going to introduce you to the first real life robot citizen! Her name is Sophia, and she’s a citizen of Saudi Arabia. Why was she created? Well, some claim that she’s nothing more than a public relations stunt, but others aren’t so sure. Her creators have managed to traverse the uncanny valley, which has held many robots back for a long time. David Hason is heading up the project, using his past experience as one of Disney’s Imagineers as inspiration. We will show you what she is capable of, and what she can’t do quite yet.
