Gauteng Premier David Makura says an independent forensic investigator will look into reports of dodgy tenders uncovered by slain whistleblower, Babita Deokaran. Deokaran was killed in a hit-style murder outside her home in southern Johannesburg around a year ago. She was the Chief Director of Financial Accounting in the Department of Health and reportedly a critical witness in an investigation by the SIU into corruption and fraud in the procurement of PPE. A News24 investigation found that she had also requested that R850 million in potentially dubious payments out of Tembisa Hospital be investigated. And that she feared for her life after she tried to stop payments from the hospital. To discuss we're joined by the Director of Strategy and Media Liaison at the Gauteng Office of the Premier, Mohlalefi Lebotha.
