Hello everyone, in today's video we are going to review and compare some of the fruits of the Annonaceae family. The Annona fruits I am reviewing in this video are -Guanabana aka. Soursop, Graviola (Botanical name: Annona muricata) -Sugar apple aka. Sweetsop, Anon (Botanical name: Annona squamosa) -Cherimoya aka.Chirimoya (Botanical name: Annona cherimola) -Atemoya (Botanical name Annona atemoya) What do these Annona fruits taste like? -Guanabana - Taste is sour/sweet. Many people say it tastes like a mix of tropical fruits such as pineapple and mangos. -Sugar apple - Taste is very custard, a mix of tropical custard. The taste is very sweet and almost no acid (sourness). -Cherimoya - Taste is very sweet, no sourness of all. Taste like just pineapple and mango with a mix of other tropicals fruits, a very strong sweet taste to the fruit. -Atemoya - Taste can range from sweet and sour. A hybrid of both the cherimoya and sugar apple, its taste in some of them is more similar to a cherimoya but still has the same sweetness and custard taste as a sugar apple. My favorite fruit that I tasted in this video would be the Spikey Guanabana as it was very sweet with little to no acidic taste, also the meat to seed ratio was incredible. I also love atemoyas but the ones I found here in Colombia seemed to be not as up to par as some named cultivars we grow in Florida such as 'Phet Pak Chong' or 'Geffener' atemoya.
