Control Explained - What is The Oldest House?

Hello everyone. Welcome back to the Control Explained segment of Gaming University. Today, we go back to basics. At the beginning of Control, Jesse enters the Oldest House. This location serves as the primary setting for the story.

While characters like Emily Pope and Dr. Ash inform the player on what this Place of Power is, there is more to the story. Dr. Ash theorized that at one point in time, the house appeared as a Great Tree. By looking at symbolic representations and how they apply to collective consciousness, I will attempt to answer the question. What is the Oldest House?
