Benhazin The Proud ( Black Panther & King Of Wakanda ) is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Ta-Nehisi Coates, Wilfredo Torres, and Jacen Burrows. He first appeared in Black Panther (Vol. 6) #14
(May, 2017).
• During his reign, Benhazin also opened the Dora Milaje initiations (which were previously reserved to barren women) to all women of all tribes, which caused their numbers to triple, as tribes felt the proximity to the king was the opportunity to have one of their one become the queen.
• Although Benhazin never consorted with the Dora, from then on they forever came to be seen as potential wives for the king.
•His name was also among the names of former Wakandan rulers used by explorers of the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda, who named the Benhazin System after him.
