A 30,000-strong coalition of fighters
A 30,000-strong coalition of fighters comprising of Iraqi and Kurdish Peshmerga forces and Sunni tribes is advancing on Mosul, ISIL's last major stronghold in Iraq.
Kurdish commanders say they have achieved their key objectives, clearing nine villages and extending control over the Erbil-Mosul Road.
