Making a traditional Sami style Guksi drinking cup. Originally developed by the Sami people from northern Scandinavia the Kuksa in Finnish or Kasa in Swedish is traditionally made from Birch wood. A burr or burl in America was traditionally used as that part of the birch wood would offer greater strength and beauty. In this video I use standard birch dead wood harvested from my local woodland.
