SA-led HIV vaccination research programme receives R860m grant

Breakthrough in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa as South Africa's led Vaccine Discovery Research received over R860 million grant from the US Agency for International Development. The grant is aimed at implementing a programme called “HIV Vaccine Innovation, Science, and Technology Acceleration in Africa. The programme is spearheaded by the South African Medical Research Council alongside top scientists from seven African countries.
