Almost 1.7 billion of the
Almost 1.7 billion of the world's population carry TB bacteria but they do not appear sick. Out of these 35% reside in the South-East Asia Region. Without treatment about 1 in 10 of infected persons will develop TB disease at some time in their lives. Young children and household contacts of a TB patient and persons with weak immune systems are especially vulnerable.
