BENDING BRANCHES & AQUA-BOUND PADDLES
It's no coincidence that some of the finest kayak and canoe paddles made come from a small factory located in the north woods of Wisconsin. After all, many of the people who work in the factory not only have a passion for paddles, they have a passion for paddling.
In 1982, whitewater and touring canoeist Dale Kicker and flat-water racer Ron Hultman teamed up to create the first composite tipped canoe paddle. This unique innovation revolutionized the paddle industry and gave birth to Bending Branches.
Aqua-Bound was the first to introduce gas-assist molded paddle blades. The Aquabound mission has always been to take what's best about paddle technology and push it to new levels. Bending Branches and Aqua-Bound combine to give a versatile offering to paddlers of any level of participation.
As the world's largest manufacturer of quality canoe, kayak, and stand-up paddles, they remain a privately held company in Northwestern Wisconsin, staffed by paddling enthusiasts. This translates into countless hours spent designing, prototyping, testing, and perfecting each of our paddles. And when that's done, we go back and look at ways to build them even better. Lighter, stiffer, smarter, more durable, and more beautiful. Our customers have found our paddles to be their long-term companions on adventures, both short and long. This spirit of adventure continues to drive Bending Branches to enhance your paddling experience.
The breakage rate on our paddles is 0.03%. Every single component in our paddles is of the most durable, lightweight, and reasonably sourced materials. We’ve tested every part and know it’s the best material and design possible.

* Artisan builders that have worked at Branches since 1982. Every Rockgard® tipped wooden paddle is hand made, and One-of-a-Kind!

PERFORMANCE AQUA-BOUND PADDLES
Nothing beats a composite blade cutting through the water. Smooth entry and exit from the water, quick acceleration, effortless at top speed, encourages bracing, carving, and invites advanced paddle techniques, changing how any boat/board paddles. Less weight and fewer strokes with more distance traveled means less fatigue! If you’re out all day, or paddle often, you will LOVE these paddles, and loaning them to a friend seems like a HUGE favor…..

Designed to be a paddle you never get rid of, they have been known to last a lifetime. These might be a customer’s first or second paddle they’ve purchased, but it will make an excellent secondary/backup when they purchase a paddle with fiberglass or carbon blades. These are also GREAT paddles in areas with less-than-ideal shore lines since they can take quite a bit of abuse.
