Harry James-Somewhere My Love live Sept 1970

I heard Harry James and his Orchestra for the first time on January 30, 1970.

I was sixteen years old, and was standing at our table with Harry.

A little old lady came up to Harry and asked, "Do you play any waltzes?"

Harry answered, "Sure, we've got a brand new waltz. Do you know Somewhere My Love?"

The lady replied, "Oh yes, that's one of our favorites!"

Harry promised to play it on the next set.

This Dave Matthews arrangement was Harry's response.

Harry always played his part as a shtick, for a laugh.

He starts with a run up to a high F#, and ends with a pedal low E.

In 1970-, Harry James remained the Master of the Trumpet!
