When your spec is not
When your spec is not flavor-of-the-month it's all the more important to pump some big numbers to show your raid what's what.
Like most specs in season of discovery, what has performed the best has changed from week to week. Thus, keep in mind that this is true for week 3 of SOD, but may not be true for week 4.
The ranged hunter is probably going to get some tuning, based on their spot in damage output in every percentile. And since tuning is primarily done through the rune system, it's plausible that the favored rune build will change with incoming tuning.
