Your voiceover script may be written by somebody else, it could be by someone who hasn't got English as their first language, and there could be grammatical errors in it, and spelling problems.
The script, if it’s a promo script or commercial may be about a product, system or service which you have no real understanding of, yet, after all this, you have to sound the absolute expert!

You should be able to interpret a script to give it the appropriate “voice”, “tone”, “pitch” and “colour”.
