Nicola Sturgeon announces her resignation
Nicola Sturgeon announces her resignation as Scottish First Minister.
The SNP leader will make the announcement at a hastily-arranged 11am press conference at Bute House in Edinburgh.
It is not yet clear if she will stand down immediately, or continue in the role until a new SNP leader is elected.
Ms Sturgeon has been first minister for eight years since November 2014, when she took over from Alex Salmond following the independence referendum.
