DIY Outdoor Concert: Setup & Performance // Live Music Fundraiser for Harlan Park 2020

Revitalizing an old outdoor stage and hosting a live music concert to raise money for our local ball park. The COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 resulted in the cancellation of Harlan Days, which is our annual local festival where we raise all the money needed to keep our local park running throughout the year. Normally this is a 3 day multi-activity event that draws in thousands of people to our small town for fun, food and entertainment. Since we are prohibited from having Harlan Days this year we decided to do something that would still be safe, fun and hopefully raise some much needed money. Generally, the only source of income for the Harlan Park comes from Harlan Days. All of this was done under the current CDC guidelines for outdoor events and fortunately our area has a very low infection rate for corona virus so we felt we could do this and still be safe. We fixed up the old stage that hasn't been used in many years called the Moonlight Theater, played some music, had some fun and raised a little money. The opening band is Fansler Kid followed by Walking Papers to finish out the night. The Moonlight Theater was named after long time Harlan Park volunteer "Larry Moon" and we took this opportunity to honor him for all his efforts through the years.
