Hi Guys! I'm selling my Canon 5D Mark III today and so one of the most common questions is: "How many shutter actuations has your camera had?" which basically means how many pictures has it taken? Why is shutter actuation important? Because unlike the shutter on your phone camera, the shutter on a DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) camera is a mechanical one and over time, it will wear out like any part on a car. My Canon EOS 5D Mark III shutter's rated lifespan is 150,000 actuations which is quite a lot, given that my camera only has 32,502 actuations as it's hardly been used and has been babied most of its life! 😊 You can download the FREE macOS application here: orlv.github.io/freeshuttercounter/ It definitely works for the Canon EOS 5D Mark III (my camera) but from the website, it also says it works for the following cameras: 1D C, 1D X, 1D Mark IV, 7D Mark II, 7D, 5D Mark III, 5D Mark II, 6D, 70D, 60D, 50D, 40D 700D (Rebel T5i), 650D (Rebel T4i), 600D (Rebel T3i), 550D (Rebel T2i), 500D (Rebel T1i), 100D (Rebel SL1), 1200D (Rebel T5), 1100D (Rebel T3), 1000D (Rebel XS) They say it does NOT work for the following cameras: 1D X Mark II, 5DS, 5DS R, 5D Mark IV, 5D, 80D, 750D (Rebel T6i), 760D (Rebel T6s), 1300D (Rebel T6) If you like the video, please LIKE and SUBSCRIBE as it'll encourage me to make more instructional videos, not only about fitness, but also about all the other stuff I'm interested in and know a little something about!
