US Defence Intelligence Agency claims Ukraine has killed 8-10 Russian generals since the war began on February 24. However, Ukraine's Ministry of Defence claims to have eliminated 12 Russian generals in less than three months of fighting. The figure, if confirmed, is twice the number of generals killed in the Soviet Union’s 10-year military campaign in Afghanistan.
