Are women and men equal
Are women and men equal in the Netherlands?
Do women have the same chances as men?
How about income disparity?
Are there enough women in top positions?
We asked expats how they experience the position of women in the Netherlands compared to their home country.
According to these foreigners, the Netherlands is quite progressive and they consider it one of the places where women and men are most equal...
However, the statistics do not fully support that perception. Yes, women and men have the same chances at the start of their careers. But once there is the time to have children, most women switch to a part-time position... In the higher management, the share of women is really low, only 11%.
So, even in the Netherlands there is still a long way to go in term's of 'emancipatie van vrouwen) emancipation of women...
