Percy Bysshe Shelley; English poet (Sussex / Horsham August 4, 1792 - Italy / La Spezia Bay, shipwreck 8 July 1822). His father was a parliamentarian with the title of nobility, he studied at Eton, acquired a solid classical culture. Moved to Oxford University, he loved the progressive writers who were handling the reformist ideas of his day. He adopted a radical revolutionary attitude while listening to the lessons he wanted, so much so that the brochure he published required both his expulsion from the university and his denial by the family: The Necessity of Atheism (1811).
