Indya X Ssrishti India Trust

This International Women’s Day, Indya, an ethno-fusion brand founded by two powerhouse women, has collaborated with NGO Sshrishti India Trust, to economically empower and improve the lives of underprivileged women from the marginalized neighborhood of Bhatti Mines.
Sshrishti India Trust, through its Women’s Empowerment Programme, addresses gender equality by fostering skill-building and capacity-development amongst women from underprivileged neighbourhoods. At Bhatti Mines, an urban village on the outskirts of Delhi where residents are still battling for basics, the trust runs a vocational training center in tailoring and handcrafting to help women develop skills and secure sustained income generation.
As part of the collaboration with Indya, the women of this village are crafting garment bags using the brand’s leftover and surplus fabrics. These bags will be sold on the Indya website and its exclusive stores across the country, thereby giving these women a steady source of income.
