We take a look at the new design mid 2018 Razer 15.6 laptop, with a Nvidia 1070 Max q graphics card and the 8th gen i7 processor. We were not Razer's biggest fans when it came to the Razer Blade 14 inch laptop, as we had issues with all 4 of the ones we owned, will this one sway us to switch our laptops over ?

The Razer 14 is over a grand cheaper if you shop around, the Razer 15 is certainly not a grand better. But, if money is no issue and you get one with a decent screen without issues, the new Razer is hands down the winner of the two.

UPDATE: Just to address a few comments. Firstly the fans on the new Razer run far more often, even when using just Word or Excel, when compared to the old Razer, where you hardly ever heard the fans unless doing something intensive. This is likely a software issue and something we hope Razer will update in the future.

Also the fan on the new Razer, when running at a slow speed makes a winy pitch, hard to explain but it can be a tad annoying.

The heat near the top of the keyboard gets so hot during gaming gets so hot that you would literally burn your skin if you put your hand on for more than 30 seconds.

The tearing you see in Far Cry 5 DOES NOT happen when connecting the old Razer to an external monitor,  only when using the old Razer's own display, which is only 60 Hz.

Regarding Razer's customer service, again, after being promised returns labels we have yet to receive any, despite several emails (all which have been ignore) and several live chat sessions that promised a returns label and never materialised.

UPDATE 2: Far Cry 5 no longer has screen tear on the older Razer 14 (2017), after the latest update and turning on G-Sync. It maintains an average of 54fps on High settings and 60 FPS on Medium.
