Did you know that... This is one of the rarest and most expensive coffees in the world. It is called "KOPI LUWAK" and is made from coffee beans literally defecated by an Asian civet.
These civets feed on the coffee fruit and although the internal coffee bean is not completely digested, it is chemically modified by the enzymes present in the civet's stomach.
When the beans are excreted, still covered by the layers of the fruit, they are harvested, washed and lightly toasted to not spoil the flavors obtained during the process.
A pound of this coffee can cost up to 500 dollars since only 1000 pounds are produced per year and a cup would cost around 100 dollars.
